Edmund Salazar, born in Eloy, Arizona, to Fidel and Isaura Salazar on September 28, 1930, passed away on September 18, 2024. A true outdoorsman, Edmund had a deep love for hunting, fishing, camping, and gardening. He was also a passionate enthusiast who enjoyed both coaching and watching sports, especially when his grandchildren and great grandchildren were playing.
Edmund was married to Margaret Salazar and is survived by his two children, Anna Ogle of Eloy, and Phil Salazar (Christina Salazar) of Tucson. He is also survived by his four grandchildren, Mundito Ogle (Tonya Ogle), Danielle Salazar (Nickolas Boone), Chrystal Reyes (Richard Reyes), and Denise Salazar (William Whitehouse), as well as his ten great grandchildren. His siblings, Mary Leos, Virgina Duarte Dolores Badia, Armida Flores, Dora Gaytan, and Rosalie Ramirez survive him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Fidel and Isaura Armenta, his brothers Fidel A. Salazar Jr., Gustavo Salazar, and Raoul “Rudy” Salazar, and his sisters, Minnie S. Carino and Mary Lou Salazar. Edmund’s legacy of love for the outdoors and sports, as well as the devotion to his family, will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
Services are being held on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, with the rosary being recited at 9:30am and mass at 10:00am at St. Helen of the cross Catholic Church and the burial immediately following at Eloy Memorial Park.
