Edmund W. Allen

SANTAN - Edmund W. Allen, 54, died on Jan. 7, 2020.

Mr. Allen was born on Sept. 19, 1965, in Sacaton to Marjorie and Romie Allen. He worked for Gila River Farms and earlier had worked for Tohono O'odham Farming Authority for 16 years. He loved rock and reggae music, and his favorites were Guns N' Roses, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Bob Marley and Peter Tosh.

He was always helpful and humorous and loved being around his family, especially his grandchildren. As a former enthusiastic Little League player for the Stanfield Pirates and baseball player for the Cocklebur Warriors, he loved sports. He always enjoyed watching his grandchildren play ball.

He was preceded in death by his father; his wife, Terri Mix-Allen; a daughter, Romarie Allen; and a half-brother, Simon Enos Sr. He is survived by his mother; a son and two daughters, Kerwin Allen of Cocklebur, Adeline and Kaylene Allen of Santan; four siblings, Lucinda, Merrildine, Mavis and Darrell Allen of Cocklebur; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 16, at the Allen home in Upper Santan, with a wake following at St. Francis Catholic Mission in Cocklebur. Funeral Mass celebrated at 7 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 17. Burial in Cocklebur Cemetery.
