Edward Joseph Dick Jr., 91, passed away peacefully in his sleep on November 23, 2024, at his home in Casa Grande, Arizona. Ed was born in Evansville, Indiana, and was preceded in death by his parents, Edward J. Dick Sr. and Mathilda (Wink) Dick, as well as his five siblings: Lorina (NC) Foster, Frances (Joe) Koch, Josephine (Leo) Schmitt, Ida (Russell) Laymon, and Thomas (Margaret) Dick.
Ed is survived by his loving wife of 71 years, Mary “Mitzi” (Dewig) Dick, and their children: Cynthia (Amy) Hunter, Linda (Richard) Ludka, Shea (Keith) Robinson, Michael (Diane) Dick, and Angela (Ben) Horton. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Lisa (Austin) Vickers, Jason Ludka, Janessa (Charley) Skousen, Steven (Edith) Borik, Joshua (Haley) Dick, Michael (Bethany) Hovis, and Rory, Gavin, and Maeryn Horton. His great-grandchildren include Stevie Borik, Charlotte Vickers, Scarlett Hovis, Imogen Borik, Cora Vickers, Conrad Hovis, and Violet Hovis. Ed is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Doris Dewig and Marge Dewig, along with many nieces and nephews.
After graduating from high school, Ed and Mitzi moved to Rockford, Illinois, where Ed worked as a manufacturing engineer for Sundstrand Aviation. In 1986, they moved to Grand Junction, Colorado, where Ed continued working for Sundstrand at their new facility. He retired in 1995 after 40 dedicated years of service.
Following his retirement, Ed and Mitzi split their time between Montrose, Colorado, and Casa Grande, Arizona, before settling permanently in Casa Grande in 2010. Ed was an avid golfer and a gifted craftsman, known for creating both functional and decorative wooden objects with great detail. He was also a skilled repairman, took pride in his impeccably kept lawn, and had a particular fondness for watching Westerns on TV. Ed loved his family, and always looked forward to their visits.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Casa Grande, Arizona, at a future date, followed by interment at Mountain View Cemetery, Casa Grande, Arizona. Memorials in Ed’s honor may be made to St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church or School, 501 W. Second St., Casa Grande, AZ 85122.Ed will be deeply missed by his family and friends, and his legacy will live on through the memories they shared together.
