Edward Lopez

PALO VERDE STAND VILLAGE - Edward Lopez, 78, died on Nov. 8, 2016, at Santa Rosa Care Center in Tucson.
Mr. Lopez was born on Aug. 27, 1938, in Palo Verde Stand to Roy and Sophie (Ventura) Lopez. He was considered to be the last elder in his community. In his earlier years he would make adobe blocks, then help build homes in the community.
He loved his Juicy Fruit and Spearmint gum and enjoyed working on crossword puzzles. He was considered to be a true cowboy and also was a Dallas Cowboys fan.
He is survived by a niece, Hilda Garcia of Sells.
The wake will begin at 5 p.m. Sunday at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Mission. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 7 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in San Luis Cemetery.
