COOLIDGE — Edward S. Layn, 76, formerly of Coolidge, died on Oct. 12, 2009 in Webster, Texas.
Burial was on Oct. 21 in Valley Memorial Park.
Mr. Layn was a son of Mark and Myrtle Layn. After graduating from Coolidge High School in 1952 and the University of Arizona in 1956, he served in the Navy for three years. He then worked for Rockwell International supporting the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo and space shuttle programs at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston for more than 30 years until he retired. He then worked as a volunteer building houses for Habitat for Humanity in the Webster area. His family and friends enjoyed hearing stories of his experiences.
Survivors include a brother, Samuel Layn of Gaithersburg, Md.; a niece; and four nephews.
J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud Coolidge Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
