**In Loving Memory of Elida Martinez**
Elida Martinez, aged 88, of Eloy, AZ, passed away peacefully on November 19, 2024. Born on August 10, 1936, to Eleuterio and Lucia Martinez, Elida's life was a tapestry woven with love, creativity, and joy.
Elida possessed a passion for music and dancing that light to every gathering. Her culinary skills were nothing short of magical; she had an extraordinary gift for transforming simple ingredients into delightful meals. As a talented seamstress, Elida could mend anything, always ensuring her loved ones were well-cared for. Her laughter echoed through card games with her cherished sisters and lively outings at the casino, creating memories that will be treasured forever. The Arizona desert held a special place in her heart, and she delighted in exploring its wonders, often sharing those adventures with her family and friends.
She was a beloved matriarch, surrounded by the warmth of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the many friends she embraced throughout her life. Elida's nurturing nature and radiant spirit will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
Elida is now reunited in eternal peace with her husband, Lawrence Martinez, her beloved parents, Eleuterio and Lucia, and her dear siblings: Ygnacia, Jose, Lucia, Pauline, and Amado.
She leaves behind a loving legacy through her children, Helen Martinez Smith, Lawrence Martinez Jr., David M. Martinez, Sally S. Martinez, Jim Martinez, and Anna Martinez, as well as twenty grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren, alongside her cherished sister, Mary Munoz.
A visitation will be held in her honor at Valley Chapel on Thursday, December 12, 2024, at 4:00 PM, followed by a rosary at 5:00 PM. A Mass to celebrate her life will take place at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 13, 2024, at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church, with burial to follow at Eloy Memorial Park.
Elida Martinez's service, a testament to a life fiercely loved, has been entrusted to J. Warren Funeral Services-Valley Chapel. As we remember her radiant life, let us carry forward the love and joy she so generously gave to us all.
