Elizabeth Ann Hantzsche, 100, went to rest in peace with the Lord on September 25, 2014 after a long and fulfilling life. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God ultimately gave her peace in death.
Elizabeth was born to the late Joseph and Anna Beres, in Barberton, OH. on July 30, 1914. She was dedicated to her Catholic faith a member of the Franciscan Third Order. She dedicated her life to raising her children and also served as a mother for several of her grandchildren. She enjoyed writing poetry, short stories, baking, was a seamstress and loved being with and helping young people. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Akron, OH until she moved to Arizona City, AZ and became a member of St. Helen of the Cross in Eloy, AZ.
Elizabeth was blessed with a large and loving family. She married Arthur Wade Hantzsche, on March 02, 1946 in Barberton, OH. They raised six children and were married for over 36 years until Arthur passed in 1982. Elizabeth lived in Akron Ohio until she moved to Arizona City in November of 1987.
She was preceded in death by her Mother and father, her husband Arthur Wade Hantzsche, son Raymond Hantzsche, sister Margret Hiller and brothers John, Joseph and Steve Beres, Daughter in laws Lois Hantzsche and Gloria Hantzsche, Granddaughter Kristy Hantzsche and Grandsons Michael and Timothy Hantzsche. She is survived by her children Joseph and Patricia Hantzsche of Buckeye, AZ, David and Theresa Hantzsche of Show Low, AZ, Karen and Michael Cook of Rapid City, SD, Fred Hantzsche of Arizona City, AZ and Don and Georgia Howey-Hantzsche of Rapid City, SD, 10 Grandchildren and 16 Great Grandchildren.
Service will be held at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church with Rosary at 9:30am and Mass at 10am on October 4, burial to follow at the Eloy Memorial Park Cemetery. Reception at noon at St. Helen of the Cross 205 W 8th Street Eloy, AZ 85131.
