Elizabeth M. Herzog, 90, of Eloy died March 8, 2007 at home.
Visitation was from 6PM-8PM Monday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church with rosary recited there at 9AM Tuesday. Burial was in Eloy Memorial Park.
Mrs. Herzog was born July 19, 1916 in Cleveland, OH. and was the daughter of James and Frieda Jaber. She was a registered nurse for more than 50 years and worked for Cleveland and Detroit hospitals and the American Red Cross. She continued work as a school nurse at Villa School after moving to Eloy in 1972 and assisted school nurses in Eloy Schools as well.
She was a senior officer for Council of Catholic Women in the Detroit Diocese. She was very active in volunteer programs in Arizona. Affiliations and awards included: Well Baby Clinic in Eloy, Eloy Senior Center, Pinal County election boards, Pinal-Gila Council for Senior Citizens, volunteer and advocate for the council's Elder Abuse Specialist Team, Eloy Town Hall, Arizona City Moose Lodge, College of Regents officer, officer for many years with Toltec Property Owners Association and Toltec Ladies Club, commendation in 1988 from President Ronald Reagan for work with senior programs, Eloy Chamber of Commerce Good Neighbor Award, pinal County Retired Senior Volunteers Outstanding Service Award and many volunteer projects for her beloved St. Helen's Church.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Herzog of Bloomfield Hills, Mich., Martin Herzog of Phoenix and Fred herzog of tucson; two daughters, Lenore Kueber of powder Springs, GA., and Diane julia of Scottsdale; 10 Grandchildren; and 9 Great Grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her husband of 59 years in 1998, Emil.
J. Warren Funeral Services Valley Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
