Elmer Marquardt
Elmer James Marquardt, 71, of Casa Grande died on Nov. 25, 2009 at Tucson Medical Center.
The memorial service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday at the Coolidge Veterans of Foreign Wars post. Private inurnment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Deer Creek, Minn.
Mr. Marquardt was born on April 27, 1938 in Deer Creek and was a son of Albert W. and Lilly M. Marquardt. He had a career in the Navy and retired as a chief petty officer. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was a combat photographer.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Henrietta; a son, Henry A. Marquardt of Kingman; two daughters, Lori M. Gardner of Tucson and Tamara D. Reusse of Bend, Ore.; a brother, Herman D. “Pete” Marquardt of Novato, Calif.; two sisters, Esther M. Harmon of San Francisco and Roxanne Spreutle of Mellen, Wis.; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Harold J. Marquardt, and four sisters, Elsie L. Hodo, Dorothy R. Walker Alcorn, Ellen M. Carpenter and Laura M. DiLuigi.
