CASA BLANCA — Elvira Dorothy Lewis Yucupicio, 62, died on Feb. 15, 2010 at Chandler Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be at 8 a.m. Saturday at Vah-Ki Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Vah-Ki Cemetery.
Mrs. Yucupicio was born on Jan. 25, 1948 in Sacaton. She graduated from Casa Grande Union High School in 1967 and made the honor roll her senior year. She attended Lamson College, taking secretarial courses. She was a data processing operator for FM4 Gila River Corp. and also worked for Guadalupe Data Entry Services. She was a teaching assistant, math lab aide and counselor’s aide, then a secretary for the Sacaton Elementary School District. She worked under eight principals.
She was a member of Vah-Ki Presbyterian Church and had many friends. She enjoyed life and endured what she had to.
Survivors include her husband, Felipe; three stepchildren; Frank and Johnny Yucupicio and Josie Valencia; two brothers, Dexter M. Lewis Sr. of Bapchule and Cornelius Lewis of Gila River; and five grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Timothy D. and Thelma Lewis, and a brother, Winston Rhodes.
