Emma Chico

SACATON FLATS — Emma Chico, 67, of Sacaton Flats died on Nov. 23, 2022.

Ms. Chico was born on Nov. 23, 1955, in Little Tucson Village to Manuel Chico and Christine Flores. She loved to craft, cook, do puzzles, read magazines and books and also liked playing on her Kindle, watching sports and spending time with her family.

She is survived by five daughters and sons, Lisa, Rosemary, Duane, Stephanie Ortiz and Lorenzo Ortiz Jr., all of Casa Grande; five siblings, Rita, Richard, Carlos, Eleanor and Jenny Chico; her companion, Terry Voltarez; 19 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Geraldine Chico and grandson Trevor Ortiz.

Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 9, at Fountains of Living Water Church in Casa Grande. Funeral Mass celebrated at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Carol Ramon home in Little Tucson. Rosary recited at 1 p.m. Burial in Little Tucson Cemetery, Tohono O'odham Nation.
