Eric Scott Ridnour

July 1, 1956 — November 15, 2021

Eric Scott Ridnour 65 of Apache Junction Arizona went peacefully to his Lord and Savior on November 15, 2021. Eric was born July 1, 1956, in Creston, Iowa to Barbara Ann and Harold Claude Ridnour.

Eric graduated from High School in Red Oak Iowa where he was athletically talented and excelled at football. After serving in the United States Marine Corp, Eric attended the University of Iowa where he walked on the football team and graduated with a degree in Journalism. He retired from the Arizona Department of Corrections in 2019. Eric was typically a quiet man and loving son, brother, father, and Marine who enjoyed spending time with his family and talking with his parents. Being an Iowa Alumnus, Eric was an avid Hawkeye fan who also enjoyed an awesome music collection that he had acquired over the years, dabbling in gardening, and working around his home, as well as sports, and coin collecting.

Those left to cherish his memory include his son Shawn (Amanda) Ridnour Maricopa AZ, daughter Kelli Ridnour Bristow OK, grandchildren Samantha Ridnour Gilbert AZ, Christopher Matthews and Madeline Wycoff Bristow OK, Isela and Wyatt Ridnour Maricopa AZ, and great-granddaughter Charlie Mae Ridnour Gilbert AZ, parents Barbara and Harold Ridnour Milan IL, sisters Lisa Ridnour Frederick, MD, and Ann (Dave) Mangelsdorf Milan, IL, as well as nieces Amanda VanWatermeulen Aledo IL, Christianna (Quinton) Helgason Rock Island IL, and Aletha (James) Gauley Aledo IL.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life and fiancé Josefa Luna (Josie) Reyna, as well has his grandparents Helen and Kenneth Irish, Letha and Claude Ridnour, and aunt Sharon (Edward) Penski.

We are forever blessed to have had Eric in our lives and while we are sad that he has left us too early, we find comfort in knowing that he is at peace in heaven.
