Erling Malcolm Blackwater

BLACKWATER - Erling Malcolm Blackwater Jr., 70, of Blackwater died on March 15, 2018, at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix.

Mr. Blackwater was born on April 28, 1947, in Sacaton to Erling and Delamere (Whitman) Blackwater. He later had a stepfather, Willard Perkins. Called "Pee Wee" by his friends and family, he served 21 years in the Air Force before retiring. He enjoyed reading and participating in Haskell Osife-Antone American Legion Post activities.

He was an avid "Trekkie," watching Star Trek movies and reading magazines. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include four daughters and sons, Renee Davis, Michael, Shalene and Shaun Blackwater; a sister, Suzanne Acuna; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale Blackwater and David Perkins.

Wake from 6 to 10 p.m. on Monday, March 26, at the District 1 Service Center and continuing at his home. Graveside service at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, March 27, in Blackwater West Cemetery.
