Erma Faye Young

Erma Faye Young, 76, of Casa Grande died on Jan. 1, 2014, at Casa Grande Regional Medical Center.

The celebration of life will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel, with the Rev. Hank Cannon officiating.

Mrs. Young was born on Oct. 16, 1937, in Grand Prairie, Texas, and was a daughter of Benjamin Taylor and Annie B. Davis. She was a homemaker and a member of Utopian Club of Casa Grande. She enjoyed sewing and arts and crafts and could make nearly anything. She liked fishing and going to casinos with friends Dorothy and Bobby Sue. Most of all she loved her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include three sons, Wayne, Claudell and Matthew Young Jr., all of Casa Grande; a daughter, DeAnn Sharp of Casa Grande; a brother, Melvin Johnson Sr. of Texas; a sister, Alma Williams of Texas; 10 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Matthew J. "Ted" Young Sr., and a brother, Herman Johnson.
