PICACHO — Erminia Pompa Ortega, 81, of Picacho died on Feb. 9, 2013, at Oasis Pavilion Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Casa Grande.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande. The funeral will follow at 11, with Rodger Cordova officiating. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.
Ms. Ortega was born on March 19, 1931, in Gonzales, Texas, and was a daughter of Jeremias and Gorgonia Pompa. She lived in Texas until moving her family to Coolidge in 1973. She worked at the Arizona Training Program at Coolidge as a caregiver and was a strong woman who raised her family alone. She was very generous and gave whatever she could to help people in need. She loved her family unconditionally.
Survivors include three daughters, Shirley Hernandez of Picacho, Georgia Miller of Texas and Sandra Reyes of Arizona City; a son, Charles Ortega of Texas; two sisters, Isabel Pena and Irene Maldonado of Texas; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister.
