ELOY - Ernestina Gonzalez, 74, died on Feb. 22, 2018.
Ms. Gonzalez was born on Sept. 16, 1943, in El Paso, Texas, to Amado and Trinidad Gonzalez. She was a hard worker and started as an agricultural worker at a young age with her dad and siblings. She worked at Food Town IGA for many years and also was a state corrections officer.
She retired in Arizona City and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was devoted to her family and loved attending Jehovah's Witnesses meetings and conventions and preaching the word. She also loved to shop, have her hair done and spend time outside in the sunshine, looking at the flowers. She loved life and lived it to the fullest.
Survivors include her mother; 12 sons and daughters, Victor Gonzalez of Coolidge, Joe Ontiveros of Casa Grande, Jaime Ontiveros of Kent, Washington, Johnny Ontiveros of Huntsville, Alabama, Javier Ontiveros of Valley Farms, Jorge Ontiveros of Casa Grande, Trini McAnulty of Eloy, David Chavarria, Anthony Felix, Angelica Gonzalez, Analicia and Lillian Gonzalez, all of Arizona City; five siblings, Juanita Tarango of Casa Grande, Sylvia Diaz of Eloy, Martina Macias of Tucson, Delfino Gonzalez of Phoenix and Edwardo Gonzalez of Flagstaff; 35 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father; a brother, Amado Gonzalez Jr.; and a sister, Tomasa Tarango.
Memorial service at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 2, at Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall in Eloy, with Brother Kevin Jones officiating.
