Ernesto Alejandro "Ernie" Gomez

CASA GRANDE - Ernesto Alejandro "Ernie" Gomez, 51, of Phoenix died on May 4, 2016, at Serenity Hospice in Phoenix.

Mr. Gomez was born on Sept. 1, 1964, in Tucson to Rafael and Mary Jane Gomez. He was interested in politics and religion and loved to debate. He was a Golden Gloves boxer in the 1970s in New Mexico and Colorado and loved Tejano music.

A car salesman, he collected antiques and liked lowrider vehicles. He loved his family and had a unique relationship with each family member.

Survivors include two daughters, Maria Elena Gomez and Ana Alicia Gomez of Phoenix; two brothers, Carlos and Rafael Gomez Jr. of Phoenix; a sister, Marisela Gomez of Casa Grande; and his father, of Casa Grande. He was preceded in death by his mother; a son, Alfonso Alejandro Gomez; and a sister, Maria Laura Gomez.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. The celebration of life will follow at 7, with Pastor Diego Galvan officiating.
