Erno Lopez

Erno Lopez, 70, from Maricopa, Az, and a member of the Ak-Chin Indian Community died on August 26, 2024. Mr. Lopez was born in Ak-Chin, Az., on July 6, 1954, to Ross Lopez and Virginia Thomas. 

Erno served in the US Army and was a Police Officer for the Ak-Chin Indian Community, which he loved doing. He loved spending time with family and friends, playing his violin, riding his horse (when he could), and working in his yard. He loved watching his grandkids play sports and rodeos, his favorite sports were football, baseball, and his favorite teams were Arizona Cardinals and ASU. Erno’s favorite thing to do was driving around the Ak-Chin Indian Community visiting his favorite spots and taking drives with his wife Carole and going to the Casino. 

Erno is survived by his wife, Carole Lopez, and his mother; Children: Michelle Justin, Gwendolyn Lopez, and Austin J. Lopez; Siblings: Johnny Lopez, Linda Smith, many nieces, and nephews. 

Erno is preceded by his father, and siblings: Bernadine, Irene, Jonella, Priscilla, Austin, Joseph, Bertrand, and one grandson: Justin Lopez. 

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024. 

Mass, 5:00 pm at St. Francis of Assisi Church 16657 N. Church Rd. Maricopa, AZ. 

Wake, at Family Residence, following Mass. 

Burial, 5:00 am, Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Ak-Chin Cemetery.
