Esther L. Monahan

LAVEEN - Esther L. Monahan, 95, died on Oct. 6, 2019.

Ms. Monahan was born on Nov. 4, 1923, to William Enos and Minnie Patton-Enos in Sacaton. She was a member of Ira Hayes American Legion Auxiliary Unit 84 and an elder of First Presbyterian Church in Sacaton.

A former alcoholism counselor and nursing assistant in Sacaton, she was a sports enthusiast and loved watching the Diamondbacks and Suns.

Survivors include two daughters and a son, Doris P. Jackson, Lucinda R. Williamson and Virgil W. Somegustava; five grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.

Funeral at 7 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, at Gila Crossing Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Loretta Blackwater officiating. Burial in Co-Op Cemetery.
