Eva Moreno Santos, 91, of Casa Grande, long active in the American Legion Auxiliary, died Oct. 10, 2009 at home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Rosary will be recited at 7. Funeral Mass will be celebrated there at 9 a.m. Saturday by the Rev. Kevin Clinch. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mrs. Santos was born May 12, 1918 in Tucson. She was a homemaker and was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, Guadalupana Society and Sodality of Our Lady.
She held many positions in the Legion Auxiliary, helping to select Girls State delegates, being responsible for junior members at the state level and working on other auxiliary children’s and youth programs. She was a Consortium for Citizens with Disabilities parent educator and catechism teacher at the Arizona Training Program at Coolidge.
Survivors include two daughters, Adelina Santos Duran and Margarita Santos Sanchez of Casa Grande; five sons, Julian M. Santos of Tempe, David M. Santos of Tucson, Francisco M. Santos Sr. of Casa Grande, Vincente M. Santos of Tucson and Arnold Santos of Kearny; 31 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Julian F.; a daughter, Margarita Pacheco Martinez; a brother, Joseph B. Bustamante; three sisters, Francisco Colmeneros, Jennie Moreno Verduzco and Antonia Moreno; and a great-grandchild, Mekhi D. Duran.
