Evelio Lopez Salazar, 70, of Casa Grande died on Dec. 17, 2013, at home.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Friday at St. Helen of the Cross Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 10. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30. Burial will be in Eloy Memorial Park.
Mr. Salazar was born on Dec. 8, 1943, in Mexico and was a son of Elisa Lopez. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and later was an assembler at Hexcel. He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, enjoyed golf, was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and enjoyed watching football and boxing. He enjoyed his "sidekick" Scooter and loved spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include three sons, Gilbert, Evelio and Robert Salazar, all of Casa Grande; two sisters, Rosa Escarsega and Alice Salazar of Eloy; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Salazar, and a brother, Isareal Martinez Sr.
