Everett Frank Kisto

Everett Frank Kisto, 90, passed away on March 11, 2020. He was born on July 2, 1929 to Frank J. Kisto and Agnes Thomas in Sacaton Flats. Mr. Kisto was a veteran of World War II, serving in Guam in the Air Force. He worked with the Union Pacific Railroad and was employed by the Gila River Police Department as a Ranger and was also a Process Server for the Gila River Indian Community Court. Everett was later employed by the BIA, Pima Agency, Roads Department as a surveyor/heavy equipment operator, then transferred to BIA, San Carlos Irrigation Project where he continued to be a heavy equipment operator then retired due to medical reasons.
Mr. Kisto has been a cowboy all his life and participated in rodeo events as a team roper. He was also a farmer who grew crops and shared these with his family and community members. Everett was a God-fearing man who took his family to church at the First Pima Baptist Church in Sacaton where he was a member. He loved to sing, ministering through song and initiated a gospel group, Unity for Christ.
Everett is survived by his children: Hon. Donna Kisto-Jones of Sacaton; Janet Kisto of Sacaton; Cheryl Miguel of Stotonic; Gregory Everett Kisto, Sr. of Sacaton Flats; Claudette Kisto of Sacaton Flats; Lori Kisto of Sacaton Flats; Renee Gary of Sacaton Flats; the mother of his
children, Lorraine E. Kisto; his brother, Thomas Kisto; 25 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Kisto and Agnes Thomas; his daughter, Ervaleen Kaye Kisto; his brothers, Sylvester Kisto and Roderick V. Kisto; his sisters, Patricia Millard and Leticia Reyna; a great-grandson; and a great-granddaughter.
Wake service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 20, 2020 at District 2 Multipurpose Building in Sacaton Flats. Church service will be held at 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at First Pima Baptist Church in Sacaton. Burial to follow at Jones Cemetery in Upper Santan.
