Fernando Lazoya Reams, 66, of Sacaton, died January 22, 2022. He was born November 7, 1955, in Phoenix, Arizona to Alfred Reams Sr. and Peggy Annette Milda. Fernando was very interested in computers, tech innovations and would even build his own. He was an IT Trainer-Human Resource department and Casino Finance with Gila River Casinos, also was an employee of Gila River Health Care facilities maintenance department before retiring in 2006. He is an alumnus of University of AZ since 1973, studying physics, then he participated in research studies at Central Arizona College. Fernando loved playing the trumpet. He began playing in band when he was in grade school and continued to play throughout his life. Contributing his time playing TAPS for funeral services for Salt River American Legion Post, Ira Hayes Post, and Haskell Osife-Antone Post 51. He also played with Sacaton Indian Band and Salt River Indian Tribal Band. As a high school student at Casa Grande Union High School, he had the honor of traveling with 5 others from Gila River to Europe, with the band performing in several countries. He was a humble man that loved to spend time going to movies and adventuring out driving and spending time visiting. He would enjoy the time spent with nieces and nephews when he would visit. We will miss him dearly.
He is survived by his siblings, Lyle, Selwyn and Fernanda Reams, all of Sacaton, and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, and a brother Alfred Jr.
J. Warren Funeral Services Cole & Maud Coolidge Chapel are in charge of arrangements. Graveside services will be held 8am, Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Sacaton East Cemetery, Sacaton, Arizona.
