COVERED WELLS — Fernando Ramon, a 104-year-old native of the Tohono O’odham Nation, died on Sept. 23, 2010, at home.
The service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at the Ramon home in Mountain Village. The wake will continue there at 8. Burial will be early Saturday in Mountain Village Cemetery.
Mr. Ramon was born on Dec. 15, 1905, in Santa Rosa Village and was a son of Santiago and Jessie Ramon. He was a lifelong rancher and handyman. He enjoyed doing art work, including drawings and wire baskets. He was active in the Elderly Traditional Dance Group.
Survivors include five daughters, Mary, Nancy, Lillian and Ann Ramon, all of Covered Wells, and Jeri Lopez of Santa Rosa; two sons, Mark Ramon of Covered Wells and Stanley Ramon of Casa Grande; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, a son, a granddaughter, three brothers and a sister.
