AK-CHIN. -Fernando Francisco Smith Jr. 52 , passed away on January, 20, 2025. He was born September 16, 1971. Fernando graduated from Maricopa High School, he was known to be a very caring brother, father, uncle & grandfather from the Ak-Chin Indian Community. He enjoyed drawing, listening to music, playing his guitar, working outside and spending time with his grandchildren and children.

Fernando is survived by his two daughters Shannen Nichole kateri Smith and Michelle Smith. His two sons Jason Corey Smith and Stacey Fernando Smith His four grandchildren Amenah Naomi Smith, Izaah Tadai Smith, Anastasia Aiyanna Soke, and Eliza Hera-Claire Smith. His seven siblings Cornelious Joseph Lewis, Ronald Lee Lewis Sr, Valentino Lewis Sr, Fabian Dion Santiago, Geneive Rose Narcia, Virgina Faye Narcia, Salina Leanne Litton and MANY NIECES AND NEPHEWS. 

Proceeds in death with his mother Anita Howard, his father Fernando Francisco Smith Sr. His son Frances Joesph Smith, his grandkids Marcos Joseph Ramirez, Isabella Irene Rosa Ramirez, Judam Smith, his brother Salmino Lewis, and sister Gloria Smith. Along with his dogs Beast, Chow, and Escobar. 

His wake services will begin at 5pm on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at Lopez Resident 47251 W Farrell Rd. Maricopa, AZ - Mass will begin 9am Friday, February 7, 2024 at the St. Francis of Assisi Church, 16657 N. Church Rd. Maricopa AZ, and burial will take place at Ak-Chin Cemetery.
