Fernando C. Yubeta Sr., 82, of Casa Grande died peacefully on May 19, 2011, at home, with his family by his side.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, with rosary recited at 9:30. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. by the Rev. Kevin Clinch. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mr. Yubeta was born on Feb. 22, 1929, in Nogales, Ariz., and was a son of Carmen and Augustine Yubeta Sr. He was known for his skill in construction, working with concrete, masonry and front-end loaders, and was very hard working. He loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed watching the kids’ sporting events and horse races on Sundays. He also enjoyed singing with his brothers and other family members.
His hobbies were baseball, dominoes, poker with family and friends, playing pool and cruising around.
Survivors include two daughters, Olivia Hammons of Casa Grande and Velma Escarcega of Chandler; three sons, Fernando Yubeta Jr., Carlos and Victor Yubeta, all of Casa Grande; a brother, Porfirio Yubeta of Bakersfield, Calif.; two sisters, Sarah Zaragoza of Globe and Lupe Terrazas of Glendale; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a son, Markey Yubeta; two brothers, Augustine Yubeta Jr. and Mike Yubeta; and a sister, Belen Ronquillo.
Memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Yubeta’s name to American Cancer Society.
