Fielden Edward Weddle

ELOY - Fielden Edward Weddle, 86, of Yuma and formerly of Eloy, died May 23, 2008 at home.


The graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday in Eloy Memorial Park, with Pastor Don Brackbill Jr. officiating.

Mr. Weddle was born Jan. 31, 1922 in Eldorado, Okla., and was a son of Ludie E. and Odella G. Weddle. He moved to Coolidge in 1936 and served in the Army from 1942 to 1944, during World War II. He married Zora Lee "Tommy" on May 31, 1946.

He farmed in the Eloy area, then from 1945 to 2000 on the Yuma Mesa. He enjoyed deep sea fishing in Mexico and spending time with his family on sand dune and hunting trips.

Survivors include two sons, Lewis Weddle of Eloy and Jim Weddle of Yuma; a daughter, Trudy Mackay of Yuma; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Max Weddle; a daughter, Kathy L. Weddle; a sister, Laverne Williams; and two brothers, Erroll and Austin Weddle.
