CASA GRANDE - Florence Ann "Flo" (Voegeli) Tellinghuisen, 79, of Casa Grande died on Sept. 17, 2016.
Mrs. Tellinghuisen was born on Jan. 9, 1937, to Edwin and Loretta (Bubs) Voegeli during a blizzard on a farm north of Beresford, South Dakota. The doctor came in a sled pulled by a team of horses. Her family moved to Alcester, South Dakota, where she grew up and graduated from Alcester High School. After graduation she moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where she met Dennis "Denny" Tellinghuisen. They were married on Feb. 14, 1958.
She held various positions in real estate and sales while they lived in Sioux Falls. In 1984 she and Denny moved to Albert Lea, Minnesota, where she worked in sales. After retiring in 1998, they worked for Laborers for Christ, building church-related buildings in various places across the country for eight years. Starting in 2006, they spent summers at Hart Ranch, Rapid City, South Dakota, where she worked as a front gate attendant. In the winter they stayed in Casa Grande and in 2015, they became permanent residents of Palm Creek Golf & RV Resort.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Darwin of Aurora, Illinois; a daughter, Dawn Bechtold of Sioux Falls; a brother, Leroy Voegeli of Sioux Falls; three grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
A wake will be held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Casa Grande. The funeral there will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.
