CASA GRANDE - Florence Ann Hartley "Flo" Raynor, 80, of Casa Grande died on Jan. 29, 2018, at home.
Mrs. Raynor was born to Seaton and Ruth Hartley in Ithaca, New York, on July 7, 1937. She married Kenneth Raynor on June 14, 1958, in Jamestown, New York. After Ken got out of the military, they made California their home base for 40 years. She had a warm heart and gentle hands and worked as a certified nursing assistant for many years.
She was baptized as a Northern Baptist in New York and attended Poway Community Church in California. Wherever they were on a Sunday, they found a church home, sang the songs of faith, prayed and thanked the Lord for their blessings. In recent years they spent summers at Verde Valley RV Resort in Cottonwood and attended church there. They spent winters in Casa Grande and worshipped at United Methodist Church.
She and Ken loved to travel. Her favorite expedition was an 18-day tour of New Zealand that took them to the beautiful Cook Strait crossing and Mount Cook. One of the highlights was the lights of glowworms in the Waitomo Caves. To keep her hands moving during the trips and at home, she enjoyed "croknitting" and spoiling her Chihuahua "Paco," who stayed close or sat happily on her lap. When she and Ken were not traveling they could be found eating great food, line dancing and enjoying life together.
She is survived by her husband; two daughters, Leanne Raynor Kimbro and Janelle of Mariposa, California; and six grandchildren.
Service at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 9, at United Methodist Church of Casa Grande. Burial later in the Odd Fellows section of the Mariposa cemetery.
Memorials may be made in her honor to American Cancer Society or United Methodist Church of Casa Grande.
