Florentino “Payaso” Munoz, 74, of Phoenix died on July 15, 2011, at Chandler Health Care Center.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. today at J. Warren Funeral Services, Mountain View Chapel. The graveside service will follow at 10 in Mountain View Cemetery, with Deacon Francisco Solano officiating.
Mr. Munoz was born on June 20, 1937, in Nixon, Texas. He was a migrant farm worker all his life. He enjoyed spending time with family during holidays. He also enjoyed music, dancing and playing cards.
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Lou Contreras of Corpus Christi, Texas, Irma Roth of Phoenix and Rosa Garcia of Mesa; five sons, Hose Ruiz of Gilbert, Ricardo Munoz of Mesa, Ismael Munoz of Phoenix, Gerardo Munoz of Albuquerque, N.M., and Arturo Munoz of Mesa; a brother, Pedro Munoz of Casa Grande; four sisters, Rufugia Munoz of Guadalupe, Ramona Otero, Romana Espinoza and Juanita Sanchez, all of Casa Grande; 18 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia Munoz, and a brother, Joe Munoz.
