Frances Atkinson

Frances Pauline Atkinson, 86, died on Feb. 3, 2011, at Hospice Family Care in Casa Grande.
Ms. Atkinson was born on May 20, 1924, in Tucson to Olive and Charlie Parker. She was raised in Hayden and, upon graduating from high school in 1943 during World War II, she moved to Los Angeles with her older sister to work in aircraft manufacturing. She became an inspector and retired after 35 years in the industry. She moved to the Payson area, where she lived until needing full-time care.
She was active in Veterans of Foreign Wars and loved shopping, buying anything that was on sale. She helped many people in the park she lived in. She loved the Dodgers and Diamondbacks and watched most games on TV. She also loved music, especially Frank Sinatra.
Survivors include a sister, Willie E. Hight of Casa Grande, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Julia Huffmaster, and a brother, Charlie L. Parker.
No service will be held at Ms. Atkinson’s request.
