Born in Carturo, AZ, a daughter of Beatriz Sotelo and Jose Montijo. She lived most of her life in Eloy. She worked in the early 40's during WWII, as a welder in the Long Beach shipyard under the Women Ordinance Workers Program, which replaced men who enlisted in military service. With her mother, she opened Beatriz Cafe in Eloy in the 40's and operated it until its closure in 1996. She loved to cook and play bingo and enjoyed participating in arts and crafts activities. Burial was held at Mt. View Cemetery.
