Francis Arrington Antone

AK CHIN - Francis Arrington Antone Jr., 74, died on June 28, 2019.

Mr. Antone was born on Feb. 2, 1945, in Chuichu Village and was a son of Francis Antone Sr. and Bertha Young. He served in the Army and Marine Corps from 1967 until 1974, including in the Vietnam War. He was a farm laborer for most of his life.

He enjoyed going to the movies and the casino and spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his wife, Lena Vincent-Antone; two sisters, Geneva Antone and Jeanette Sanders of Ak-Chin; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Leon Vavages, and three sisters, Joann Pablo, Esther Narcia and Ruth Joe.

Funeral Mass celebrated at 5 p.m. on Friday, July 5, at St. Francis Catholic Mission. Wake from 6 p.m. to midnight at Ak-Chin Service Center, then continuing at 16945 Hohokam. Burial at 5 a.m. on Saturday, July 6, in Ak-Chin Cemetery, with brunch following at the service center.
