Francis Gibson

Francis Wilkins "Fran" Gibson Jr., 78, of Casa Grande died on Nov. 20, 2012, of injuries sustained in a highway crash.
The graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Mountain View Cemetery, with the Rev. Andy Combs officiating.
Mr. Gibson was born on June 22, 1934, in Manheim, W.Va., the eldest of three children of Catherine P. (DeWitt) and Francis W. Gibson Sr. He served in the Navy from 1952 to 1956, was a radarman first class and was on the destroyer USS Hawkins. He and his wife of 50 years, Charlotte D. (Harper) Gibson, moved to Casa Grande, where Mr. Gibson was an elementary school teacher for 33 years.
Survivors include a son, Francis Wayne Gibson of Casa Grande; a daughter, Katrina D. White of Wasilla, Alaska; a sister, Carolyn Sue Shaver of West Virginia; and a brother, Charles R. Gibson of Pennsylvania. He was preceded in death by his wife.
