Francisca A. Lara, 92, of Casa Grande died on Sept. 22, 2014, at home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel in Casa Grande, with rosary recited at 7. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Friday at St. James Catholic Church in Coolidge by the Rev. Adolfo Martinez. Burial will be in Heritage Valley Memorial Park in Coolidge.
Mrs. Lara was born on Sept. 8, 1922, in Candelaria, Texas, and was a daughter of Romulo Alvarado and Antonia Contreras. She was a homemaker and seamstress who enjoyed cooking and sewing clothes for friends and family. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church.
Survivors include three sons, Ed, Chino and Ray Lara, all of Casa Grande; two daughters, Freda Salazar and Bertha Aguayo of Casa Grande; 17 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ysabel G. "Pancho"; two sons, Alfred and Oscar Lara; a great-grandchild, Noah Lara; two brothers; and four sisters.
