Francisco Xavier Mendez

Francisco Xavier Mendez, 88, of Casa Grande died on May 18, 2014, at Oasis Pavilion Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 22 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at J. Warren Funeral Services Gardens Chapel Casa Grande, Arizona

Burial will be in El Claro, Santa Ana, Sonora, Mexico.


Mr. Mendez was born on April 23, 1926, in the old southeastern Arizona town of Fairbank and was a son of Miguel Mendez and Leonor Aldecoa. He was a farm equipment operator and was very generous, having a heart for those in need and devoted to assisting others. He was devoted to his family.

Survivors include eight sons, Arnulfo, Gilberto, Arturo and Eduardo Mendez, all of Eloy, Edmundo Mendez of Chandler, Francisco Mendez of Arizona City, Miguel Mendez of Florida and Jose L. Mendez of Stanfield; two daughters, Maria Carmen Castano of Casa Grande and Maria J. Pavon of California; 27 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Edilia Mendez.

Burial will be in El Claro, Santa Ana, Sonora, Mexico.
