ARIZONA CITY - Franklin Paul "Frank" Mintken, 75, died on April 4, 2019, at Banner Casa Grande Medical Center.
Mr. Mintken was born on April 29, 1943, in Ainsworth, Nebraska, to Paul Edwin Mintken and Mary E. Corbitt. He attended the University of Nebraska in Lincoln and graduated with a degree in accounting. Soon after, he moved his young family to Boulder, Colorado. He did not enjoy working for others and started some successful companies in computing and mortgage lending. He was known as a Renaissance man and skilled mechanic and built his dream house from the ground up. He was an accomplished woodworker and always up to speed on the latest in computers and technology.
In 2002, he and his wife "retired" to Arizona City, where they served as sales representatives for the Woodall's/Good Sam RV campground directory every summer through 2018. They covered much of the Western United States and made literally hundreds of friends. He loved building things, flying model airplanes and riding his 1997 Harley-Davidson FLT. His family said he was a rare combination of someone who had a love of life and a firm understanding of what was important - the simplicity of living a life with those he loved. He wrote his own rules and paved his own way.
Survivors include his life partner and soulmate of 55 years, Linda Elizabeth Neben Mintken; a son, Paul Ernest Mintken; a daughter Lisa M. Wagner; and five grandchildren.
Celebration of life on May 27 at the Lutheran Church in Buffalo, Nebraska.
The family suggests doing an unexpected act of kindness for some poor unfortunate soul in his name.
