Fred J. Lopez Sr.

Fred J. Lopez Sr. of Covered Wells, 68, died on October 29, 2023, in Pisinemo. He was born on August 24, 1955, in San Xavier to Joseph Lopez and Delores Miranda-Lopez. 

Fred was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his family. He cherished spending time with his loved ones and had a particular love for sports and was a fan of The Arizona Wildcats and the Arizona Cardinals. 

He is survived by three daughters, Delana, Cedella, and DeAngela, as well as his son Fred Lopez Jr. He also leaves behind two siblings: Edward Lopez and Lester Lopez Sr. Fred is also survived by six grandchildren and one great-grandchild. 

Preceding him in death are his parents, his siblings Percy, Elmer, Delbert, Vera, Agnes, Rufus Lopez, and Emily Fasthorse.  

Visitation will be on Sunday, November 5, 2023, in Covered Wells, at 5:00 p.m. at The Lopez Residence. Mass will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023, at 6:30 a.m. with burial to follow at Lower Covered Wells Cemetery, Tohono O’odham Nation.
