Freeman "Pete" Scott, 49, a longtime Casa Grande resident, died Feb. 21, 2008 in Houston.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Assembly of God, with Pastor Clarence Edwards officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
Mr. Scott was born Oct. 9, 1958 in Vernon, Texas. He lived in Colorado City and Fort Worth, Texas, then moved to Casa Grande as a teenager. He worked for Gipson's Towing for many years. He also worked for Star Towing and finally at Wal-Mart's Tire & Lube Express. He enjoyed his time with family and friends and loved being around people. He played in a men's softball league for many years and also was in a bowling league.
Survivors include a daughter, Cassandra Scott of Worthington, Minn.; a son, Freeman "PJ" Scott of Jackson, Minn.; his wife, Martie; three stepchildren, Tony Lann, January Martinez and Angie Cosillos of Coolidge; four sisters, Lorene Winston of Houston, Glenda Scott and Dorothy Smith of Casa Grande and Janet Smith of Denver; seven brothers, Jimmy Scott and James Knight of Casa Grande, Willie Scott of Colorado City, Texas, Dave Scott and Byron Sanders of Harrisburg, Pa., Steven and Tommy Scott of Fort Worth; and seven stepgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Ivy Jo Scott.
