CASA GRANDE - Geneva Lee Poirier, 77, of Casa Grande died on Nov. 6, 2016, at home, surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Poirier was born on Jan. 29, 1939, in Stuart, Oklahoma, to John and Eavie Rackley. She was very down-to-earth with a loving personality. She was a homemaker and very devoted to her family.
She was a dedicated Christian woman who loved God. She spent a lot of time teaching Sabbath school to children and also served as a deaconess for the church she attended. She thoroughly enjoyed old western movies and traveling. Her favorite place that she and her husband lived was in Prescott.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, John J.; five daughters and sons, Connie Sanchez, Janet Cool, Randy, Joe and Mike Poirier; a brother, Rick Rackley; four sisters, Linda Ward, Kathy Putman, Annie Rackley and Carol Webb; 17 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill and Johnny Rackley; two sisters, Corine Sikes and Lorrine Hale; and two grandsons, Mayson and Joey Poirier.
Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Monday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel. The funeral will follow at 10, with Pastor Rick Roy officiating. Burial will be at 2 p.m. in National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, in Phoenix.
