Genevieve Miguel

Genevieve Miguel, 63, of Ak-Chin died on April 24, 2022.

Ms. Miguel was born on the Ak-Chin Indian Community on Jan. 29, 1959, to Jonas Miguel and Mathilda Antone.

She loved spending time with her family, sewing baskets, making traditional dresses, cooking and dancing.
She enjoyed her time teaching the O’odham traditional language and songs. She volunteered at Ak-Chin Community events; she would assist many families with whatever they needed help with.

She is survived by a son and daughter, Jose Miguel Sr. and Mathilda Reyna Miguel; three siblings, Benedict Miguel, Janice Miguel and Alverna Flores; 20 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by a daughter, Ortencia Miguel; four sisters; and a brother.
