MARICOPA — George Francis Dilworth, 84, of Maricopa died on Sept. 27, 2012, at Hospice of the Southwest, Copper Cottage in Mesa.
Inurnment will be at 2:30 p.m. Friday in National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona, in Phoenix.
Mr. Dilworth was born on Dec. 5, 1927, in New Jersey and was a son of Patrick and Anne Dilworth. He retired as a master sergeant after a career in the Army, including World War II and the Korean and Vietnam wars. He received the Purple Heart Medal. He later was an exam administrator for the state of Colorado. He was a member of Elks, Disabled American Veterans and American Legion in Chandler.
Survivors include two daughters, Kim Romero of Colorado and Cindy Dilworth of Maricopa; a sister, Ann Honebien of New Jersey; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Christine, in 2011, and two sons, Kevin and Jeff Dilworth.
