George Kinner

September 28, 1926 — January 16, 2018

CASA GRANDE - George Allen Kinner, 91, of Casa Grande died on Jan. 16, 2018.

Mr. Kinner was born on Sept. 28, 1926, in Northampton, Massachusetts, the third of three boys born to Stephen A. and Genevieve L. (Mercereau) Kinner. He served in the Army Air Corps from 1945 to 1946. He worked for NCR Corporation for 37 years, retiring in 1987. Upon his retirement he and Phyllis spent 15 years traveling throughout the United States and Canada, later settling in Chandler. Upon her death, he moved to Casa Grande, where he served as an active volunteer at Banner Casa Grande Medical Center for eight years and a food bank for 10 years.

In Casa Grande, he shared outdoor adventures with his dear friend, Barbara, including hiking, rafting, bicycling and walking with fellowship in spirit with the Lord. He was a kind person with a winning smile. Many will recall seeing him walking or riding his recumbent bicycle in the greater Casa Grande area. His door was always open to minister to, inspire and impact all those he met.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Stephen A.; his second wife, Phyllis (Wood); a son, Dale, in 1981; and his dear friend Barbara Burke. He is survived by a brother, Richard L. Kinner, age 100, of Greenfield, Massachusetts; five sons, Lynn of Ware, Massachusetts, David of Northampton, Massachusetts, Jan of Kettering, Ohio, Brian of Belchertown, Massachusetts, and Thomas of Chiefland, Florida; a daughter, Shirley Tisdale of Stuarts Draft, Virginia; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Graveside service planned in Meetinghouse Hill Cemetery in New Boston, New Hampshire.
