Gerald Apkaw

SANTAN - Gerald Apkaw, 75, of Scottsdale died on March 8, 2014, in Scottsdale.

Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. today at St. Anne Catholic Mission in Santan, with visitation continuing until midnight. Funeral Mass will be celebrated there at 9 a.m. Thursday by Monsignor Richard Moyer. Burial will be in St. Anne Catholic Cemetery.

Mr. Apkaw was born on Oct. 14, 1938, in Santan and was a son of Harvey and Anita Apkaw. He loved to smile and be around people and walked all around. He liked to hang out, listen to the radio and live "the traditional way."

Survivors include two sisters, Germaine Kisto of Sacaton and Marcelene Williams of Santan, and many nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Conrad, Justin and Dennis Apkaw.
