CASA GRANDE - Gerald Babbage, 80, of Casa Grande died on Oct. 3, 2016, in Chandler.
Mr. Babbage was born on Oct, 6, 1935, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Robert and Geraldine Babbage. Also known as "Dusty" for his "over-the-hill age," he brought joy and laughter to those around him. He was an engineer for years until his retirement.
When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed playing games and cards, and he especially loved watching NASCAR. In his earlier years, he enjoyed golfing, bowling and skating. He was a funny jokester who had a loving and generous personality. He was devoted to his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 16 years, Bernice; two sons and a daughter, Lee A., Linda A. and Gerald James Babbage Jr.; three stepchildren, Robert J., Mary Ann and Thomas J.; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene R. Babbage.
