SACATON FLATS - Gerald Shane Delores Sr., 43, of Sacaton Flats died on June 14, 2016, in Mesa.
Mr. Delores was born on Nov. 27, 1972, in Sacaton and was a son of Alfred Delores and Armida (Nathan) Molina. He was a fun-loving, friendly person. He loved everyone and never had anything bad to say about anyone. He had many friends. He loved dancing when he was able, and listening to country, hip hop and Mexican music. As a youngster he loved to breakdance. He had a very positive outlook on life. He always liked to joke with family and friends, no matter the occasion, and always could make people smile and laugh.
He enjoyed cooking, baking and posting on Facebook and volunteered as an assistant coach for the Coolidge football team. All through school he played sports including basketball, football, baseball and wrestling. In junior high school he played with Andrew Antone Sr.’s baseball team from Chuichu during the summer. He was quarterback for three years in high school.
Survivors include his mother, of Sacaton Flats; his father, of Casa Grande; a son, Gerald Delores Jr. of Coolidge; three brothers, Jonathan, Joseph and Frances Delores; a sister, Anna Delores; a stepsister, Rebecca Molina; two goddaughters, Kristen Apodaca and Mikenzie Donahue; a godson, A.J. Gonzales; and his grandmother Christine Lopez. He was preceded in death by grandparents DeWitt Nathan, Ursula Nathan, Leonard Delores and Katherine Harvey.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday at the Hashan Kehk Multipurpose Building. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 6 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Victory Catholic Mission. Burial will be in Sacaton Flats Catholic Cemetery.
