Gilbert Marrietta

SACATON - Gilbert Dean Marrietta, 47, of Tucson died on Aug. 3, 2013, at University Medical Center.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday at the District 3 Service Center. The graveside service will be at 6 a.m. Friday in East Sacaton Cemetery, with Pastor Brandon Johns officiating.
Mr. Marrietta was born on Aug. 17, 1965, in Sacaton. He worked in construction and enjoyed hanging out with family and friends. He loved his Native American culture and going to powwows, listening to music, being outside and walking.
Survivors include two daughters, Flora and Anita Marrietta of Tucson; three sons, Elias, Elijah and Matthew Marrietta, all of Tucson; his mother, Marjorie Marrietta of Sacaton; five brothers, Clayton Card Jr. of Tucson, Fletcher, Sheldon and Rodrick Marietta and Vincent Manuel, all of Sacaton; five sisters, Simona, Marlo, Patricia and Sheila Marrietta, all of Sacaton, and Sieanna Marrietta of Laveen; and a grandchild. He was preceded in death by his father, Simon Marrietta Sr.; a son, Jared Marrietta; and three brothers, Simon Marrietta Jr., Victor and Billy Marrietta.
