Gilbert Zamorano, 73, of Casa Grande, Arizona peacefully passed away in Flagstaff, AZ on Sunday, June 14, 2020. He was
a proud Casa Grande native born on June 23, 1946 to parents Francisco and Inez Zamorano.
Gilbert was married to his beloved wife, Virginia Martinez Zamorano for 55 years. They had two children and 5 grandsons which were his pride and joy. He worked for Southern Pacific and Union Pacific railroad for 40 years. He was a Past Exalted Ruler of Elks lodge #1957. He loved large family gatherings, especially when he was able to cook for everyone. He enjoyed telling stories, going to the Casino, traveling, listening to music, fishing, attending Arizona Wildcat baseball games, Western TV shows/movies, singing and playing his guitar, and watching his grandsons participate in sports.
Gilbert is survived by his wife, Virginia, son Gilbert Zamorano Jr., daughter Anna Medel, son-in-law Rob Medel. Five grandsons; Robby and Nicholas Medel, and Michael, Brandon, and Austin Zamorano. His brother Carlos Zamorano and sister Eliza Gonzales. His God brothers and sisters; Isabell Hernandez, Pete, Frances, Sylvia, and Carlos Costales. He is preceded in death by his parents, Francisco and Inez Zamorano, brother Frank Zamorano, God brothers Ernie, Robert, Cayetano Jr. Costales and God sister Sally Cortez.
