CASA BLANCA - Glenn Francis Hayes, 80, died on Nov. 12, 2013, at home.
Visitation will be from 6 to 10 p.m. Wednesday at the District 5 Multipurpose Building, with rosary recited at 6:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 8 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter Catholic Church by Monsignor Ed Meulemans. Burial will be in St. Peter Catholic Cemetery.
Mr. Hayes was born on May 1, 1933, in Salt River and was a son of Joseph and Dora Hayes. He was a Korean War Army veteran and paratrooper and later was a farm irrigator. He liked going to the Elderly Center in District 5 to watch TV, play pool and hang out and was a member of Ira H. Hayes American Legion Post in Sacaton. One of his last wishes was to jump out of a plane, but his daughter did it for him because of his age. He enjoyed spending time with his family and always had Sunday dinner at his house.
Survivors include three daughters, Janice Hayes of Casa Blanca, Glenda Hayes of Coolidge and Eileen Hayes of Santan; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, DeLellis; a brother, Logan Hayes; and two sisters, Lillian Navarro and Sybil Harvey.
