Gloria Ann Alvarez

CASA GRANDE - Gloria Ann Alvarez, 67, of Casa Grande died on May 19, 2016, at home.

Mrs. Alvarez was born on June 15, 1948, in Tucson to Rita and Alvaro Sarmiento Sr. She really loved all her grandchildren and enjoyed going to bingo and playing keno at casinos.

Survivors include her husband, George Alvarez Sr.; a daughter, Linda Villareal-Rosebeary of Denver City, Texas; a son, George Alvarez Jr. of Casa Grande; four brothers, Joe Sarmiento of Eunice, New Mexico, Richard, Johnny and David Sarmiento of Tucson; three sisters, Felina Corral, Norma Montano and Patricia Sarmiento, all of Tucson; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Ramon Alvarez; two brothers, Alvaro and Fernando Sarmiento; a sister, Betty Salazar; and a grandson, Ramon Alvarez Jr.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at J. Warren Funeral Services, Cole & Maud The Gardens Chapel, with rosary recited at 7. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church by the Rev. Alonzo Garcia. Burial will be in Mountain View Cemetery.
